A partially open stall does not say I’m in here peeing but I thought it was okay not to close the door because I’m standing with my back to it.

Honestly, you need to lock and close a door. If not (you have to take a pee and you don’t want to close the door), don’t keep it partially open. Either keep it all the way open so you can tell if it is occupied, or lock it.
