Barefoot in the Bathroom

It’s summer, and that means yesterday was another beach day. A sunny, breezy, lovely beach day with one little exception. A few people decided to use the bathroom barefoot.

I’m going to repeat that here, just so it can really sink in. A few people decided to use the bathroom barefoot. I’ve tried, but I’m having a hard time coming up with a place where it would be grosser to go barefoot – at least a place you’d have a reasonable chance of visiting on a normal day.

Now don’t get me wrong – I realize that we go barefoot in the bathroom in our own homes all the time. But those bathrooms have floors that presumably don’t get peed on quite so often. Or god knows what else-d on. And I understand that you had your shoes off in the sand, but you brought some flip-flops to the beach with you, didn’t you? Please tell me you didn’t come barefoot all the way from home?

Please, in the future, everybody put something on your feet.
