New Public Toilet in La Jolla

I’m actually headed down to this neck of the woods for the weekend, though I don’t know if I’ll make it to La Jolla Shores where this new $593,000 toilet was just opened. Anybody who’s ever been to a beach before will probably agree that the bathrooms there tend to be the worst part of the experience, so newer and nicer public facilities can only be a good thing.

I know real estate in Southern California is expensive, but $593,000 for a public crapper? It doesn’t even look that nice! Everybody just pees in the water at the beach anyway, but I guess anyone who can afford to own a home in La Jolla can afford to pay taxes on a half million dollar shithouse.

We just went to that beach today – I didn’t pee, but I did wash my feet in one of the several foot showers. $593k? Worth every penny!
