Londoners hold off on the flushing

The first time I was exposed to the “If it’s yellow, let it mellow, if it’s brown, flush it down” system was on a family trip to California back when the Golden State was having one of it’s droughts. I live in California now, and we aren’t having a drought but I still try not to flush the toilet every single time I pee because frankly, 16 drops of urine just isn’t warranting the water wasted in a flush. Turns out that London residents are now getting some similar advice from their Mayor. Sounds like Londoners use more water than average, and there has been less rain than average. The situation is hardly drastic, but the real scare seems to be a prediction that demand will outweight supply by 2010. Might as well start learning to conserve now!

The world is really in trouble when London isn’t getting enough rain. That’s like a sand shortage in Cairo!
